Carrie Field has an undergrad and master’s degree in social work, familiarity with the Reggio-Emilia program from leading play-based and child-directed therapy, has managed local social work programs including Early Childhood Charter Schools, and is a mom to an active 7-year-old daughter.
The mother of two FLP grads, Penny combines her professional expertise in design and commercial art, and her love of photography and multimedia to bring the arts to life at FLP. Our artiste in residence, she designed the FLP logo and continues to create our supporting artwork.
Lisa is a former Arlington County elementary school teacher who decided she preferred teaching “little ones.” She holds a B.A. in Psychology and a master’s degree in Education from Marymount University with a concentration in Special Ed. Her son, “Mr. Steven,” also teaches at FLP.
This is Cynthia’s second year at FLP. She is a mom of three, her youngest in high school. Prior to FLP, she worked at The Falls Church Day School where she worked as a lead teacher for 13 years. She is happy to be part of the FLP staff.
Martha has worked at FLP for many years and is returning after a brief hiatus. She is thrilled to be back in the Frog class this year.
Sue Campbell taught Environmental Science in Fairfax before running a home daycare and continues her interest in gardening and the outdoors. Originally from the Tidewater area, she has made her home in Arlington for the past twenty-five years with her DC native husband Steve.
“Mr. Juan” has been the custodian at Faith Lutheran Preschool for many years. He maintains our space so we can play and learn in a healthy environment.
Trish, a mother of two FLP grads and a health administration major from Penn State, has held every possible job here at Faith: mom, Parent Representative, FLP Board member, Before-School Care helper, substitute teacher, 2s teacher, 3s teacher, and 4s teacher.
Kristyna is originally from the Czech Republic and has been working with kids ever since she was 16 – as a preschool volunteer, camp counselor, au-pair, tutor, and now a preschool teacher. She is excited to return to FLP for her second year in the Lizard class this year.
Lauren returns this year as a Caterpillar teacher. She is an FLP alumni parent and loves working with the three-year-old group.
The mother of four FLP grads, Anna graduated from George Mason University. She enjoys her career in early childhood education as she juggles family and work demands!
Steven first joined FLP in 2010 as part of the Summer Camp staff. Prior to teaching at FLP, he worked for five years at Tender Roots, a Reggio preschool for ages 10 months to 3 years. There he led art projects, science experiments, and free play activities. He is happy to be working with the two-year-olds for his second year.
Ally is excited to be returning to FLP after 17 years, as a graduate of the Caterpillar class and the Fish class! She is a senior, currently studying studio art at the University of Mary Washington. She has a strong interest in early childhood education and has been working in childcare for 8 years, with experience in babysitting, camp counseling and helping out with the “escuelita” for the family food bank at Our Lady Queen of Peace church.
