Member and Community Announcements

We will have a celebration of music during worship on Sunday, Oct. 11^th. We’re hoping you will share your favorite hymns, choir pieces, instrumental or contemporary songs to sing that morning. Email your favorite songs and why they are your favorites to Director of Worship and Music Justin Streletz (Justin@flcva.org) by Sunday, Oct. 4^th. There will also be a hymnal and paper forms you can fill out for Justin in the sanctuary.

Pastor CJ has a challenge for you this fall: How can you participate in worship? Worship is something we all do together. How is God calling you to participate? You are invited to prayerfully reflect on ways you would enjoy serving on Sunday mornings – lighting candles, reading, assisting with communion, baking or buying bread for communion, greeting and/or ushering. Pastor CJ is hoping to get 100% congregational participation each Sunday. Simply check a few boxes on the form to let us know what you are interested in helping with. We’ll be in touch so you can choose the date or dates that work for you.

The “Midweek Lectionary Bible Study” group will resume meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 7^th at 1:30 PM in the undercroft. All are welcome to join this weekly bible study group! Contact Pastor CJ (pastorcj@flcva.org) with questions.

Join Faith stewardship committee members, treasurer, and business administrator and “Ask Us Anything” about our finances! Later this fall we will launch our annual stewardship campaign and ask you to consider how you can support Faith. But first, we will offer this forum where members can ask questions about our budget, expenses, giving, and financial priorities. No question is off limits—we’re committed to answering openly to help everyone understand where we are and where we’re going. Join us on Sunday, Oct. 18^th after worship!

Mark your calendars for a special Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Oct. 4^th at 4 PM in the rear Faith parking lot. All are invited to bring their pets (leashed, crated or somehow protected for their safety) for a blessing.
