Guest Preacher Today: Rev. Dr. Y’Lon Dozier
Our guest preacher today is Rev. Dr. Y’Lon M. Dozier. Rev. Dr. Y’Lon Dozier grew up in a military family and served in the Navy before earning her MDiv and DMin at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC. She has more than ten years of ecumenical parish ministry experience, having served congregations in PA and NY as a senior pastor and intentional interim pastor. She currently serves as a Chaplain at the Virginia Hospital Center, specifically in the Women & Infant Health Center in Neonatal Intensive Care, Mother & Baby, and Labor & Delivery, and on the Palliative Care team. She also serves a number of congregations as a Church Consultant, Pastoral Spiritual Director/Spiritual Listener, Supply Preacher and Gap Pastor. Rev. Dr. Y’Lon Dozier is widowed with three adult children and two grandchildren, and is also (lucky for us!) a member of Faith.

Summer Sunday School
Throughout the summer, families with Sunday School-age children are invited to bring children directly to the Fellowship Hall before the 9:30 service. There, we’ll have a variety of fun activities planned. Then children will join their parents in worship during the offering. For a complete schedule of Summer Sunday School offerings, go to www.flcva.org/summer-sunday-school.
Faith’s Rejuvenation Process Continues
The Jackson Street entrance renovation is coming along! We request that people not use this entrance for a few weeks, but the noticeable improvements will be worth it! We’ll continue to see transformation in our fellowship space throughout the summer. Painting of the building’s exterior trim will begin in early July as well, now that new gutters have been installed and repairs have been made to the roof. Be sure to check out the progress each Sunday when you come for worship!
Family Movie Night

Garden Update
More work days are planned for Saturdays, August 6, September 3 and October 1. This year, we’ll be setting up a “farm market” one Sunday per month, May – August, to sell extra produce at church. For details, and to sign up to help out with the garden, visit www.flcva.org/garden.
