Jesus Raises Lazarus

After Jesus brings Lazarus back to life, the leaders of the community decide Jesus has become too dangerous. They begin to look for an opportunity to kill him. Lazarus’s resurrection is the turning point in the gospel of John and Jesus begins his ineluctable journey to Jerusalem, his trial and his death. It is appropriate that this is the story on our first Sunday in Lent as we begin our journey through Lent, share the grief of Martha and Mary and see the promise Jesus brings of new life.
